from June, BMW’s two-wheel Motorrad Vision 100 motorbike takes the long, long view on the future of transport.

Why it matters: Never mind the Isaac Asimov-worthy looks or the shape-shifting frame that bends in response to steering inputs, the Vision 100’s real claim to fame is a self-balancing (even self-steering) system that promises to make the bike un-tippable, and by extension, un-crashable, allowing riders to let their mane blow in the breeze, Peter Fonda-style.
